Cheers & Beers

It's another inking for the beer bottle this week for a 60th birthday card, I love
trawling through my alphabet stamps and dies to make up these typography style cards..

Keeping all your alpha stamps and die sets together makes this job a lot easier
then it's just a case of playing around on scrap paper. Having an image helps as a
starting point for sizing and layout.

I'm quite pleased how this card turned out :)

Thanks for stopping by :)

Hooray for Summer

Loving the summer release from Avery Elle... in particular this Sea Scene die as its a
perfect grounding for images on a clean and simple card...... perfect for these
two having fun on their floaties

I cut two of the sea scenes, one in blue and one in white so I could layer the white waves behind the blue so they stand out more.... that also meant I could tuck the floaties into the waves too.

Well they look like they're enjoying some fun in the sun!

Pool Friends

Now this is how to hang out with friends 😉
If you're lucky enough to have a pool!!

I've revisited this fun set from Avery Elle's summer release last
year and paired it with a fun sentiment from MFT...

The Neat and Tangled background make s a great ripple effect for the water and by
cutting the pool outline die cut you can make the swimming pool any
shape and size you want.... they're just needing a glass of something bubbly in their hands!

Tumble, Flip and Celebrate

I hope you're feeling in an energetic mood because I've got a couple of cards that
 feature tumbling, flipping and stretching!!!!

I just love these illustrations from Kamo for Waffleflower... I managed to fit five of the
girls on one card and used simple colour blocking to highlight them

I found a suitable stamp in another Waffleflower set to make a ribbon for this girl to twirl
whilst jumping through the air

There are three lads in the set too so they had to have their own card....
perfect for any young budding male gymnast

I went with circle backgrounds this time and found a sentiment from other stamps and dies.
I love the expression on the face of the boy balancing on one arm 😄

Retro Games

I remember The Game of Life board game very well.... in fact we still have the original game at my Mums house which comes out on family gatherings sometimes.... Its quite interesting to see how out of date and non PC it is by today's standards !! 😉

I had to have this set from Neat & Tangled... I love the shaped board pieces and milestone occasions you can theme your cards for.... I went with a New Home card and changed the spaces to a road. The little car is a roller coaster car from a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

Talking of Retro Games... the four corner spaces put me in mind of the classic SIMON game...

Coffee & Craft

This would be my mug although I think I do more of the coffee than the craft some days!!

Love this die from Lil Inkers and the coordinating quotes and phrases to add to it, I decided to go with a sewing theme for the making part but that could easily be changed up :)

The mug is a nice size for ink blending too so I went with an ombre style in Peacock Feather Distress Oxide ink. The sewing accessories are from a Neat & Tangled set.... I just had to add thread to that bobbin and poke it through the eye of the needle :)

Mammoth Wish

A spot of colouring practice led to this card, I was keeping a watch over our little dog after an operation so it was easy to stamp out images and colour wherever I needed to be :)

I do love this little cave-girl and her mode of transport!!

I was a bit stuck to know how to put them on a card front so I reached for my patterned paper scraps which I haven't done for ages!! You can still make a CAS card with patterned paper right?

I needed a boulder to place at the base of that tree so I found the top to a toadstool from MFT's You Gnome Me worked just fine :)

Brewtiful Day

Here's a fun interactive card for a 'tea lovin' recipient.... they have to navigate the tea bag round the maze to the teacup :)

This maze die is great fun, you can start the teabag in different positions for a more challenging maze and when it gets to the cup.... it sits neatly inside...

A Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

The new challenge this month at Seven Hills Crafts is a
TIC-TAC-TOE board ... they seem to be a favourite for challenges and
it's fun to see which line inspires your crafting project too :)

As you can see, I went with the diagonal line containing animals, big words and die cutting.
I went through my Paper Smooches stamps and found these cute critters to sit
alongside the Big sentiment.... love the whimsy style of the letters which
are a great size for cutting with patterned paper.

We'd love to see you play along with us... which line on the board inspires you?
All the details can be found on the blog here with details of the prize up for grabs
Hope to see you there :)

Scandinavian Prints

Hi there :)

Nine days in to the New Year and my first blog post.... is it to late to wish you a Happy New Year?? oh well I've said it anyhow, hope it's a good one for you :)

I have a couple of cards to share using the Scandinavian Prints stamp set from Neat & Tangled. I do love this set.... when you have shapes to build images your mind starts to wander and then you think of things like... bobble hats!!

.... don't they look cute and cosy in soft winter pastel colours! I added a few details in pen and a hand-drawn border ...oh and I found the perfect sentiment in a Lawn fawn set too :)

My second card uses the Scandi set along with the coordinating Scoops stencil from Neat & Tangled.... love how you can easily make a repeating pattern when you use them together..

A simple monochromatic colour scheme and the stencil enabled me to go for the ombre look too :)

Well that's all from me, hope you have a good day and thanks for stopping by :)

Definitely not a Sci-fi Geek!!

Well I'm almost ashamed to say, but I posted this card on the Make the Day Special blog this week and I got totally mixed up with the film these iconic titles came from... can you believe I said it was Star Trek instead of Star Wars!!! ....I know.. *slaps forehead*... Okay so confession time is over and I hang my head in shame but let's get onto the card itself...

I've had these sets from Neat and Tangled for a few months now and thought it was time to have a play with them. I watched Julie Ebersole create a gorgeous night sky with mini distress ink cubes but I don't have those and watercolouring with DI's wasnt cutting it so I switched to my Gansai Kuretake paints instead and oh boy are the colours intense!! To keep the time warp flecks white I clear embossed them on watercolour card and then ironed off the EP when the watercolouring was dry.... that also helps to flatten and dry it further, ready for embossing the sentiment in gold ;)

I love the pearlescent white in the gansai paints, just perfect for a galaxy in a deep space scene :) I'm getting ahead with a grad card but I have a certain young man in mind for this card *wink* and I love that you can use this set for lots of other occasions too...perfect any Sci-fi geek!!

I'm entering this into CASology this week which has flight as the cue word...quite apt I think but I hope it's CAS enough!! :)

Thanks for stopping by :)
