Winter Friends

We woke up to snow falling this morning and although it's not settling much and probably

wont hang around for long, I thought it was the perfect day to share this wintery friendship card..

I love the Go Girl dies, the choice of hairstyles and accessories is fun.

These three ladies are ready for chilly days with their coordinating winter warmers

which I've cut using felt and decorated with acrylic paint for extra interest and texture.

The stencil background gives a lovely subtle frame and its very thematic 

being a geo snowflake design. I do like the simple style of the faces by just adding the lips,

they remind me of the dress up dolls I used to love back in the day.

Fa La La La LLama!

I think Llamas are still in this year and with a name like

 that they fit so well in this sentiment too 😄

The Fa la la die is great... much easier than cutting all those

 A's and L's from a regular alpha die!

That little llama looks quite dirty against the pure white snow! At least he's nice and 

snug with his scarf on although with a coat like that I'm not sure he needs one!

Amazing Type

Love this typewriter die from Sugar Pea designs, I had to make it red just like my toy

 typewriter... only wish I still had it! If you pull up the sheet of paper you 

can read the rest of the message..

I used a die to make a slit in the circle panel which is hidden behind the typewriter.

This is what the workings look like on the reverse..

I found I had a typewriter background which is the perfect 

pairing for a subtle background..

Typewriter Text Background - MFT

For the Knitters

Here's a card I made for a friend who loves to knit, I love the cute balls of yarn in 

the Sugar pea designs set and I paired them up with a loopy sentiment to make

 it look like the sentiment is wool  

I find repeating border stamps quite tricky to line up so I devised a method 

for this knitting pattern. By stamping the image across my misti 

grid paper I can use the dark image either side to align the card base 

correctly each time I move it up the Misti 

I used the Letter Message Board die from Sugar Pea Designs to make a fridge 

magnetfor my friend too...... I think that fact is true for any craft! 😂

The Letter board is such a fun die 😃

I love the Message Letterboard die.... this design is a total CASE of this pin on Pinterest but I knew

 it would work so well on the letterboard :)

I used a take out cup die from Lil inkers and cut the base twice to get the striped segments and coloured them with Copics :)

Lolly Letter Board

Seeing as we're still in the midst of a heatwave here I thought this ice lolly Letterboard would be perfect to share today 😊  The letterboard trend is in home decor at the moment so I was happy to see Sugar Pea Designs bring out a die to use for crafting projects....

The letter dies are all joined in one piece which makes life so easy to whizz them through the Big Shot several times.... I keep all the spares in a lidded container for future use. I used the Summer Scoops stamp set to make my delicious lollies and trimmed them out with scissors...

It just happens that Lawn Fawns Finley alphabet dies are a great font for the letterboard too... they are larger so give you more options for your letterboard messages 😊

Ten Pin Bowling

Time to blow the dust off this blog.... every year I think I'll be a better blogger but in reality, I'm a lazy blogger!!

Well today over on the Seven Hills blog I'm sharing James's birthday card which is a bowling alley scene inside a shadow box card....

It's fun to make something a bit different from the standard card shape although it nearly didn't make it when James took it out of the envelope and tried to prize it apart like a normal card!!!

I followed the video tutorial on the MFT You Tube channel and just adjusted the measurements so it would fit in a UK size C6 envelope. The stamp set is an older one from Sugar Pea Designs called Spare Me which has some great images to colour..... this little guy is certainly a keen bowler just like James!!
