Air Dancing for You

I love a novelty stamp set and these Air Dancers from Altenew are certainly that!!

I can remember when I first saw one of these dancing tubes outside a retail park, James was with me and was totally mesmerised by their flowing movement.... Altenew have got the shapes and features for these spot on ;)

I reckon they look good all bunched together although it would probably not be advisable to position them like this in real life!! There facial expressions just crack me up and I love how you can change up the arms if you chop the stamps apart.

I made a really simple easel card for something a bit different, using the best sentiment in the set on the inside to hold it all together :)

What a fun set for a celebratory card..... it's always good to have some on hand for
whatever occasion :)

Double Cut for Dads

Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far here in the UK although I think today is going to knock it off that top spot.... phew 😲😩... I don't cope with the heat that well!!!

It was also Fathers day and my cards this year were quite simple, I say 'cards' as I have to make one on behalf of James for his Dad 😊, he's really not into crafting at all!!

I know what you're thinking.... yep they're very similar!! I've used Concord & 9th's double cut alpha with the background blocks stamp set to make my colourful focal sentiment, and because it's double cut you can swap the pieces around if you cut at least two of each letter and get two different looks.
I started with stamping out the blocks...

Then once the letters had been cut you can start to mix them up.... you can even use the negative piece to help form your letter.... I think the scribbled block looks great when you trim around it as I have for the S in this design...

A simple design which is always a safe bet for a guys card but I do love the punch of colour.

Pretty Wings and Girly Things

I'm playing catch up with my Seven Hills Crafts DT projects and here are a couple of cards made using new Waffleflower stamps.

I couldn't resist these butterflies/moths ... I knew straight away I wanted to try and stamp them out in the style of real specimens..

I gave myself a bit of an artistic license with the colours, pretty sure there's nothing like that for real in Nature, I just wanted to play with colour :) I used a coloured pencil to add a slight shadow so they would look raised from the surface of the card.

I used another layering set for the next card

It's quite bold and bright but I love this combo of black and teal.... aren't those sandals the cutest?? I turned the specs into sunglasses with a black marker and coloured the frames with a matching shade of teal.
I was inspired by a pattern on one of my own tops to make the background using a couple of border stamps..... I love how the off white base card gives a retro feel with the teal and black.

Foxy Grad

It's coming up to Graduation season and I can't believe a year has passed since we were doing our proud parents bit down in Bath with our daughter :)

I need a few cards in my stash for Hannah's friends who have gone on to do Masters so I thought I'd make a start and ink up this fun set by Concord & 9th and pair it with this little fox.... I think he looks rather good with a Mortar Board ;)

The bold text looks fun in bright colours and I love how you can strike through it with a line too :)

Addicted to CAS has a Graduation challenge this fortnight so I'm going to pop it in over there... hope its CAS enough!!? I don't get chance to play along with challenges anymore so I'm happy to join in and the DT has some amazing inspiration to share too

Die Cutting Challenge

It's challenge time again over at Seven Hills Crafts and, I know I say this every month, but it really is a fun challenge this time.... Die Cut a Die Cut....

What a fun theme... can't wait to see what inventive ideas appear in the gallery!!
You can be really creative or keep it simple like I have for my inspiration project...

I needed to get these doodled flower dies into use so I chose to cut them into three pierced squares and emboss the fourth to frame the sentiment..... a nice simple layout :)

We'd love you to join us and, as usual, all the details can be found on the Seven Hills blog here along with the link up gallery.... hope to see you there ;)
