Pretty Wings and Girly Things

I'm playing catch up with my Seven Hills Crafts DT projects and here are a couple of cards made using new Waffleflower stamps.

I couldn't resist these butterflies/moths ... I knew straight away I wanted to try and stamp them out in the style of real specimens..

I gave myself a bit of an artistic license with the colours, pretty sure there's nothing like that for real in Nature, I just wanted to play with colour :) I used a coloured pencil to add a slight shadow so they would look raised from the surface of the card.

I used another layering set for the next card

It's quite bold and bright but I love this combo of black and teal.... aren't those sandals the cutest?? I turned the specs into sunglasses with a black marker and coloured the frames with a matching shade of teal.
I was inspired by a pattern on one of my own tops to make the background using a couple of border stamps..... I love how the off white base card gives a retro feel with the teal and black.

Thanks for stopping by

  1. You have made these WFC stamps shine Jenny, your 'specimens' look so beautiful and any bold dress ensemble should have a pair of sunnies to match lol.

  4. Oh wow I though those butterfly/moths were die cut and popped up - your shadowing is amazing! Love the tall layered card too - find of like a display frame. And your teal card is so retro cool! So many fun elements put together and I love the way you did the sentiment!
