Hip Hip Hooray!!
How are these for a couple of party animals!!?? I just love these stamps by Dawn Machell from Reverse Confetti, they have an innocence to them like a child's drawing and I had this card idea in my head as soon as I saw the latest set, Later Alligator....
I just stamped and water-coloured the images then used the dies to cut them out to make my party group.... a lion from Leaping Lions was all ready to join them too but .... well you know what they say about three being a crowd!! I'm sure he'll join the fun later ;)
I found a great sentiment set to go with these party-goers too..... Strictly Sentiments from Wplus9 has fun phrases and brushstroke lettering too to go with the organic style :)

Make you Smile :)
I'm on the Make the Day Special Stamp Store blog today with a card using the new stamp and die set from Waffleflower called Tiger & Lily....
I used this weeks sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch for my design so I'll pop it in over there.... it's a loose interpretation because I love building up scenes within a frame and allowing some elements to overlap the edges :)
This stamp set just appealed to my inner child and I love how Nina coloured the images in the product video so I had to have a go too :)
I'm also entering this into the Less is More challenge this week which is 'Life's a Beach'... well it certainly is for this shark with his piece of birthday cake!! Luckily he's a friendly chap so it wont be a deserted beach for long :)
Oh.... and just for a fun surprise on the inside.....

A Sepia Moment
I'm just popping by to share my DT card for Make the Day Special blog. I had to have this adorable couple by Stamping Bella... I'm more comfortable colouring animals than people but this image just appealed to me and the colour picture on the packaging just inspired me to give it a go too :)
I went for sepia tones because they look like they should be in a photograph which is also why I chose the 'wallpaper' style background paper ;) The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings by Mama Elephant... there are quite a few in that set that you could use with this happy pair who are totally lost in the moment :)

One for the Guys
Less is More have a great One Layer challenge this week..... a masculine card, two tricky genres rolled into one!! A great chance to use some unloved stamps from There She Goes, a stamp company that sadly no longer exists :( This guy comes with a space on his t-shirt and a choice of fun phrases for you to insert.... I think this one is my favourite and perfect for a tongue in cheek card for a guy :)
I'll also pop him into Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge this week too, the theme is Furry Friends.
I stamped and masked him so I could blend a background of blue and green before colouring him with Prismacolour pencils and Gamsol.
Hmmmm.... I'm going to have to be careful who this one gets sent to !! *wink*

One Onion, three ways!!
Hello :)
Just popping by to share three cards I made for an article in last months Craft Stamper magazine... the theme was to use one stamp three different ways and I chose the onion stamp from Hero Arts Stamp your own Salad

I love this stamp set with it's mix of solid and outline images and my first idea was to use the bulb and leaf parts of the onion separately to make a cluster of flowers....
These were quite tricky to line up because I used Versamark ink but, by applying the embossing powder as I went helped me to see the pattern. I ironed off the EP after I'd sponged on the ink which gave me the dark blue shadow around each image.... I quite like the effect :)
Last card is some stamping and water-colouring with distress markers.... a study of three onions!!!

I used the rock n' roll technique to ink up the onion bulbs and then cut the flowers out once I'd stamped all four petals :)
Next I tried some emboss resist for an all over pattern...

Blue Headphones
I'm joining in with Retrosketches this week... it's been a while as sketches aren't my thing normally and to be fair I made this card before I saw the sketch so it's quite a fluke really :)

I'm happy to say that My Favourite Things is the newest brand in store over at Make the Day Special Stamp Store... in fact the new July release will be available tomorrow morning :) Yippee more goodies to play with!!
To give these headphones a bit of depth I've sponged blue and white ink onto the blue pieces to make shadows and highlights as well as layering up a few diecuts .... I just love the detail in MFT dienamics dies.
I had to include a wire to the headset although I've been informed that it is possible for them to be wireless these days!!! Showing my age now ;)

Treat Yourself
I'm behind this week sharing my DT project for the Make the Day Special blog because we've updated our home PC and I'm still getting used to it!! It's quite a step going from Windows XP to Windows 8... yep the last one was about 10 years old and as slow as a snail!!!
Anyhow onto the card and I broke out some new goodies from Lawn Fawn, couldn't resist this tub of ice-cream :) I wanted to use the dies to go with Owen's ABC's too... I left them wired together so I could use them twice to cut a grid of circles as a backdrop...
Once I'd cut them I had the idea to turn them into cookies to match my Cookie Dough ice cream by inking behind the front panel and adding choc chips from an older Lawn Fawn set :)
I think this circle grid background will be quite a useful way to use these dies and it's always good to stretch those supplies ;)

Using that Christmas Stash in July!!
It's the hottest July day on record here in the UK so the new challenge this month at Make the Day Special Stamp Store will help to cool things a little because we're asking you to dig out your Christmas stamps and dies to create with for.... Anything but Christmas.

I actually thought this sounded a simple challenge at first but it wasn't long before I was scratching my head!! I turned to my dies instead and went with the Stocking dies from Paper Smooches to make some dinky baby socks...

I actually thought this sounded a simple challenge at first but it wasn't long before I was scratching my head!! I turned to my dies instead and went with the Stocking dies from Paper Smooches to make some dinky baby socks...
Instead of paper piecing, I cut them in white card and used Promarkers in three shades of blue to add stripes and solid colour to the heels and tops.... squee!!.. aren't they adorable :)
The stitched frame die is also from Paper Smooches and the sentiment by Lil Inkers.
The challenge details and gallery linky can be found here... I really can't wait to see the clever ways you guys use your Christmas stamps and dies for this challenge, the only rule is that you use a product from the store on your creation :)
