I've been trying in vain to combine the new OLW challenge with the One Layer week at Less is More, I've had to admit defeat before I went stir crazy and make separate cards as my stamps just didn't want to play ball today!
So over at Less is More Mandi and Chrissie want to 'see double' on a one layer card, so I flicked through my stamps and saw the band-aid in the Lawn Fawn set called 'on the mend' and used the masking method to stamp it twice in a cross .....
.... seeing as I don't have any 'get well soon' type cards in my stash this seemed the best card to make :)
I've been practising my pro-marker colouring and this is first take....I'm amazed!
I'm also entering this into ...Wee Memories Challenge this week as they want to see one layer cards too.
This next card is for OLW which has begun again after a summer break and the first challenge is to make a New Baby card, this week there is a prize too, for one lucky person :)
I'm lacking in the baby stamps area, especially for one layer cards .... but I did see the pea pod stamp in the PTI set called 'Green Thumb' and it shouted out to be used on a new baby card .... what do you think?
I've stamped in two different colours of chalk ink and then used coloursoft pencils to add shadow for dimension ...... oh and a cute little face too :)
I seem to be on a small card trend at the moment, these are both 4" square, I especially love them for one layer cards
Lovely to have the days to myself again but with guests coming this weekend, the housework is the top of the list, the quicker it's done the more craft time ....Yay
Thanks for your visit, I'd love to hear what you think X

Terrific cards Jenny... as ever, I love to see what you come up with each week!
ReplyDeleteThose plasters are super.
Thanks so much
Chrissie

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! These couldn't be any cuter! I just love the band-aids and the cute little pea stamp! Great job! Thanks for playing with us at Wee Memories!

ReplyDeleteLOL! Love the band-aid card and your Pro-Marker colouring is fantastic! Not surprised though... :)
ReplyDeleteLove the softness of those chalk inks and your highlighting is spot on! Good luck with that housework - have a big cup of coffee before you start, turn up some dance music and rock right through it! :)
Hope you survived Katia without too much of a mess to clean up!

Two cute cards,Jenny. Your double band-aids work great for the Less is More challenge, and I really like the pea pod for a baby card, too. Your marker coloring looks fabulous on the band-aids. I haven't ventured into coloring with markers yet. A lot of people use copics, but they're so darn expensive. I just can't get over the price. :)

Those plasters are fab, great idea and colouring too; do the Promarkers go through to the inside the way Copics do? And the Sweet Pea is adorable:)

ReplyDeleteJenny your card is adorable, sure will bring a smile to anyone not feeling well. I peeked in on your other cards as well, love your one layer cards. I am fairly new to one layer but loving them. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny,
ReplyDeleteI had always read about using odorless mineral spirits to blend colored pencils, but I didn't have any. I came across a blog (don't know which one!) where the person had used baby oil. I happened to have some on hand from a science experiment I did with the kids last month, so I decided to try it.
I used some little blending nubs I had picked up at the craft store next to the colored pencils. They worked pretty well. I'll have to try the mineral spirits to compare, but the baby oil seemed to work okay.
Have a great day! Ann
Awesome one layered cards! One layer is so difficult, but obviously not for you!!! (-:
ReplyDeleteImpressed! Have a great weekend, hugs, Karin
