Red and white just says Christmas to me, so I've used one of my older Sizzix dies to make these candy canes .....
..... I've cut 3 white and 3 red canes so I could layer the colours and then added dimension using promarkers and a white gel pen.
I was so pleased to find a matching ribbon, I think it's a recycled loop of ribbon from an item of clothing, and I used my bow maker to get three bows from it which I would never have done tying it by hand!
I may be back in the week with a red, white and blue design .... I mainly craft at night in the hols and ran out of time yesterday evening!
I'm also entering this card into this weeks Simon says Stamp challenge which is Christmas in August.
So Hannah went off to camp yesterday and the house is very quiet without her. I wont hear much from her as you don't tend to ring home when your 17 !!! but she'll be back Friday, so not quite a full week but long enough to have a bag full of dirty clothes and a need for a proper bed! James will enjoy the dirty washing at the end of the week ..... he just lives to put the washing on, it's one of his obsessions to watch the clothes tumbling round ....... shame he's not interested in the ironing!!!
That's all for today, we have a day trip planned for tomorrow so lets hope the rain holds off as we are going to the coast!
Thanks for calling by today X
A fab card Jenny. Love those candy canes. Enjoy a peaceful week. Friday will soon come round. p.s. I can't get my girls to do the ironing still and they're 21 and 26. No hope. Sue.x

Great card, Jenny! I love candy canes (to look at, not that fussed on eating them, LOL!).
ReplyDeleteI think James has chosen a great obsession with the washing - it's like music with pictures - the rhythm of the machine working and the twirling clothes. I can understand that. :-)
Michelle.
What a cute card! Enjoy your quiet time.
ReplyDeleteThis is SO wonderful. I couldn't come up with anything in my head with red & white (our Canadian flag) and now I see your card and wonder why I couldn't have some up with something for Christmas too. Love the details you added to your card.

p.s. Our cucumbers are in the greenhouse and we have had lots off. They all seemed to come at once. Hoping for a few more to make an appearance .. .. and as for the courgettes .. .. well for saying they looked a bit like rubbish plants they are now going great guns (but why hubby felt he needed to plant 4 I have no idea!!). I made some gorgeous soup with them on Saturday for my friend and I to have with hot bread rolls .. .. I offered to make some for hubby in the week but he turned his nose up!!! How dare he!! LOL!!!
Great card and I love the candy canes
