Well I said I would be back , and here I am because the flag colour challenge at Less is More has had me thinking and turning over ideas in my head!
I've covered the St Georges flag in my first card , albeit the red being a little dark , but the colours of the Union Jack have proved a bit more difficult ... it's quite an unusual colour combination unless your thinking of parties, birthday's? .... or what about presents????
..... having searched for a suitable stamp and then not been impressed with the ink colours I have (must rectify this), I decided to diecut my own shapes for presents and use coloured twine for the trims and bows.
Not sure I've got the 'ground' oval in quite the right place but this is the first time out for these stamps, more practice needed I think!
Thank you for all your wishes of good weather, it worked, we had a lovely day out Tuesday at Hunstanton walking along the beach with the dogs. James enjoys just 'being' on the beach...picking up shells, playing with the mutt, drawing in the sand etc but all the while moving along. I didn't take the camera with me as Hannah has the small one with her and my DSLR is just a hassle when you've already got your hands full and a certain lad doesn't like having his photo taken either!!!
It was quite a tiring doing it in a day but we are hopefully going camping one weekend soon so we can return for another dose of fresh Norfolk air :)
I have a child free morning so hopefully get some more crafting in right after I've left the dog at the vets .... he has an ongoing toe problem at the moment and now it's time for x-rays!
Thanks for popping by X

Presents are a great idea too - they look lovely Jenny! You sound as if you had a great time in Norfolk. We used to holiday on that north coast every year when the children were little and it's gorgeous there. Mine used to love the maize mazes you get round there too! Vx

ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! I have been so busy with my kids and having a hard time squeezing in my craft time. I love your presents - great idea and great way to use the colors. The rug placement is perfect. The twine just finishes off those tiny gifts so well. I'm glad your beach day worked out. Hope you do get back there soon for a leisurely visit. Wish I could meet you there. (How's the ironing pile treating you?) xo

You keep amazing! This is absolutely fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic the presents look in these colours, definitely a "clean" card. PERFECT
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous card Jenny! Your presents turned out perfect, for not having a present stamp, and I really like the oval grounding that you have too!
ReplyDeleteFun card Jenny and those parcels look ready to unwrap. Hope your dog is ok. We have similar but different issues with our lovely old dog. At least they're cheaper than children and don't answer back quite so often!"!!
ReplyDeleteAnother winning card, Janny. I love that little stack of hand made gifts. So creative! I got a chuckle out of your oval stamp, because I have one of those somewhere too. I know I received it in my order. I know I looked at it in my stamping area. But I cannot find out where in the world I put it after that. As tempting as it is to just order another one, I won't do it on principle. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteHope your pooch is OK ...
Cheers, Karen
