Love n' Pizza

Yay :) Thanks to the ladies, especially Diedre, over at CASology for choosing my card as a winner.

It's my first post on the shiny new blog at Seven Hills Crafts today and I've used some new stash too :)

The Pizza my Heart set from Lawn Fawn was just to cute to resist and I also knew just what I wanted to do to make that pizza box interactive too...

I used a craft knife and ruler to cut three sides so the box could open upwards and out pops a heart shaped pizza... not the conventional way to present them in a box but for the purpose of an interactive card this is fine :)

Here's a behind the scenes view to show how I attached the pizza to the back of the box lid and spaced the dimensional foam around the moving pieces :)

My daughter has claimed this to send to her boyfriend on Valentines day.... it's such a great set for the young and in love... ahhhh :)

I'm entering this into the Clean & Simple Valentines challenge over at The Paper Players blog and CASology where the challenge is OPEN... and that is just what the box does :)

A Rockin' Geek

I do love the new Geek Love set from Avery Elle and designed by the talented JJ Bolton, it's a brilliant set for lots of occasions and perfect for guys cards too...

This  stamp set also reminds me of the dress up dolls I used to play with when I was quite young... remember the fold over tabs that held the different outfits on?? I remember getting frustrated when layering up lots of accessories and waiting to see which one tipped the balance and shed the lot from the cardbord doll!!!

Anyhow back to this little guy, I used the small stamp that makes a bun on the little girl to make a pair of headphones for him.... now he looks uber cool and seems to be in the zone listening to his music :)

I just sketched in the headband piece and gave them a trendy colour to match his top. The handrawn city scape from Avery Elle's 'Super' stamp set is a perfect backdrop for him ... another guys card for my stash :)
There are a couple of Masculine themed card challenges I can pop this into too... Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and The Paper Players

Christmas Crackers!!

Well it's about time I turned my attention to Christmas Cards seeing as it's hurtling towards us at an alarming rate!! I honestly have enough Christmas stash that I could make individual cards for everyone on my list for the next three years I think, but still the new stamps and dies tempt us to buy them *sigh*

I have made Christmas Crackers for my DT blog post today over at Make the Day Special Stamp Store and used a couple of dies from the Paper Smooches Stockings dies set to do it ....

I've used two of the stocking cuffs in the set along with those gorgeous dainty bows from Avery Elle's Finished Frames....they look sooo yummy in shiny gold card, which I have re-discovered amongst my stash!!

To keep such small pieces together I used a thin strip of card behind the cracker and this allowed me to adhere the bows in the gaps too...this is a fab way to use thos scraps of festive papers up, I'm all for that :0)

Well it wouldn't be a Christmas Cracker if you couldn't pull it and anyhow the confetti is highlighting the sentiment :0)

I'm entering this over at CAS(e) this Sketch, it's a two week challenge this time around so you still have some time to play :0)... and The Paper Players have a Clean and Simple challenge this week using Silver or Gold, that's the most gold I've ever put on a card so I'm counting that as okay *wink*

Right must dash...heaps to do, thanks for stopping by :0)

Another Monster card!!

Yep, another monster... although it's more of a dinosaur really :0)
I couldn't resist this stamp set called 'Dino-mite' from Janes Doodles because the dinosaurs
have such cute faces and rounded bodies :0) I had this card idea in my head as
soon as I saw them and finally with the help of the fab
ColourQ palette, I have bought the design to life...

It also follows the sketch#134 at the Paper Players this week too... a few hours
left before closing time there!!

This is actually my brothers birthday card.
He is a leap year baby and, like every three out of four years, he has hijacked the
1st March as his birthday and I am safe to show you this now....although I know he doesn't
look on my blog :0) I thought he'd appreciate the comic style cartoon scene... we both
grew up watching the sort of cartoons this could be a scene from!!

I cut a circle mask to ink the sky using Distress inks and then used the
dienamics cityscape in three shades of blue card for depth. I love using the Distress inks on
diecut shapes....they just bring them to life :0)
I have a homemade version of ink blending tools to show you too. I followed
a tutorial on you tube and I'm quite happy with the result......so much
cheaper than buying the ranger tools. I just need to
get some photos taken and upload them.
I'll include them in another blog post next week :0)

Right that's all from me, it's been quite a busy week here on the blog
thanks for stopping by :0)

A Big Birthday!

Hi Everyone...... I know it's the warmest February day for five years here in the UK and I'm in crafting!!! ....Rolo is not impressed!
The reason being , it's my Uncles 65th birthday this weekend and I needed to make a card to send so I looked to blogland for some inspiration.

Well the colours at ColourQ are just gorgeous and could easily be used on a feminine card but I decided they would make a great masculine card in this instance, The Paper Players are asking for Clean and Simple masculine cards this week and I couldn't resist another chance to play again with the die-cuts challenge at Less is More , so that was enough inspiration to make this card....

The 'argyle' pattern is made using my PTI stamp set and the numbers are cut using dienamics dies, the sentiment and 'woodgrain' effect on the numbers are made using the stamp set that goes with the dies.
I made the label tag from an oval die-cut and then knotted 'Oyster' bakers twine onto the metal triangular fastener.

Here are the challenge details

After waking up and creeping round with a dizzy head this morning I was thrilled to see that my splash of pink card won 'Cup of the Week' at the Play Date Cafe... whoo hoo :0)  It was such a last minute make on Tuesday but I'm so glad I found the time to join in.

Right, time to take the terror out for a walk in this lovely warm sunshine.
Thanks for visiting me today and hope your enjoying this summery weather if you're in the UK :0)
