Ocean Scenes

I challenged myself for these two cards!!
I used the shadow box ocean add-on dies from Lawn Fawn but didn't want to make shadow boxes.... they're quite a versatile set of dies on their own...

The scalloped frame is such a useful die which cuts a lovely aperture in your card front and I've tucked the aquatic leaves and plants behind it. Jaws is swooshing into the scene and that shoal of fish are making their quick escape in the background!!

When it comes to the wave die cuts, you can cut the tabs off to use them flat, but instead I left them on and curved them on the card front for some dimension. I had to shorten one of the waves so they layered together but this is quite easy to do...

I added the stripes to the card base using a stencil and a good dose of glitter pen to the waves for a shimmery sea. That little whale is just so cute and the coral makes the perfect water squirt from his blowhole :)

Brewtiful Day

Here's a fun interactive card for a 'tea lovin' recipient.... they have to navigate the tea bag round the maze to the teacup :)

This maze die is great fun, you can start the teabag in different positions for a more challenging maze and when it gets to the cup.... it sits neatly inside...

Layered Fuchsias

Fuchsias are one of my favourite flowers... so pretty like little ballerinas in their tutu's and the different colour combinations are amazing which will make it fun colouring up this new Fuchsia stamp by Avery Elle....

I used my Inktense pencils to colour these so I went for a bold and vibrant colour combo and stamped a few extras to colour up so I could layer them for added dimension. I brushed on a bit of colour for a subtle background and had a slight stamping mishap with the sentiment which I had to embrace and fix with a pen.... see the double curl under the letter b? Hopefully you hadn't spotted it which means I did a good enough job 😉

Alphabet Soup and Coffee

How fun is the Alphabet Soup stamp set from Hero Arts??!! It made me think of Heinz Alphabetti as soon as I saw it and this is the result 😊

Okay, so someone has been playing with their food... I know my brother and I used to spell out words with the spaghetti letters in a bowl! I stamped them in a peach coloured ink so they wouldn't have a dark outline and used Polychrome pencils to colour everything.... I'm fairly happy with it but more practice needed 😉

I'm quite impressed how versatile this set is though and the alphabet alone is really good as my second card shows...

It's so easy to line up the letters and such a fun playful font too. I turned the cup of soup into a coffee and coloured the fancy barrista artwork with markers.... again, more practice needed I think!!

Birthday Llama!!

Sometimes when I'm browsing Pinterest of walking past a greetings card display, a funny quote or pun catches my eye and I know I have to use it on a card....

This particular pun would work for any birthday but I needed a 30th Birthday card for our nephew and this is it :) The MFT Llamas worked well because I could adapt the expression on the forward facing chap to suit the phrase inside the card...

Yes,,, I think he looks suitably alarmed and surprised!!!

All Typed Up!!

I'm a little late to the retro typewriter trend!!
I'd love one... the closest I had was a child's toy typewriter
made by a company called Petite which worked well although you really
had to hit some of the keys hard!!!

I had to have the Typewriter die from Flora and Fauna, it's just so cute and
easy to feed a piece of paper through for making typed sentiments.

Love this colour combo... couldn't resist a splash of gold,
that would be a classy typewriter!!
