PS Sparks - October Picture Perfect challenge

Hello... it's that time again... a new challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks challenge and its the turn of the photo inspiration again and what a beautiful photo it is too...

Aren't those colours just soooo pretty, I really couldn't resist a fairly literal translation of this photo because I adore everything about Autumn...

I had great fun playing with Distress Inks and the Leafy Greens set, double stamping and rockin n' rollin on those inkpads!!! I've added some veins using the thin stem in the Calico stamp set along with a few splatters and some glossy accents to mimic the water droplets :0)

So how does the photo inspire you to use your PS stash??? Why not pop over to the blog for more inspiration from my teamies...

Thanks for your visit and hope to see you in the gallery :0)

Retro Inspiration!!

Hello there.... are you a Pinterest Fan and do you love Lawn Fawn??? If the answer to both of these is yes then I have just the challenge for you :0)

It's my second and last time joining the girls at Lawnscaping this month and todays new challenge is great fun..... to be inspired by something you've found on Pinterest....
I have just a few boards on Pinterest with good intentions of using them to inspire me, I just never get round to doing just that, so this challenge was the kick up the bum I needed!! I love this retro Christmas print I pinned on my Inspiration board and thought the Lawn Fawn baubles in Ornate Ornaments lended themselves perfectly for a time-travelling design :0)
awesome retro design by penny choo

I love the "out of line" printing and angular colour blocking which was quite easy to reproduce with some masking and distress inks. Add a bit of bling with some silver thread, glittery dots and embossed sentiment across the polaroid style frame and I think the retro feel is definitely there.... love the colours too :0)

I can't wait to see what the DT girls have come up with, don't forget to hop over to the Lawnscaping blog and check them out for yourself, this weeks sponsor is the one and only.... Lawn Fawn.
I want to say thanks again to Laurel and the crew for letting me join them this month, it's been great fun and a real honour :0)

Thanks for stopping by

PS Sparks - October Designer Drafts

Happy Monday to you :0)
A new week sees the start of a new challenge at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog and sketch week has come around again.... it's another good one for you CAS lovers out there :0)

I seem to be in Christmas mode at the moment and decided on an ironic sentiment for this glum looking Walrus from Chilly Chums.... not sure if he's fed-up or tired but he looks how I feel after a Christmas shopping trip in December, I know that for sure!!!!

The lights were fiddly, but fun to cut out and I used the trick of rubbing Studio Matt medium onto thin hemp twine so I could shape the twists and turns as I wrapped it around the walrus's body... it really is a great way to persuade it to do what you want it to do :0)

Hop over to the Sparks blog for the details and check out the rest of the DT's cards or use the links here

Thanks for looking and see you in the gallery :0)

Yay!!....I'm Guest-Designing at Lawnscaping this Month!!!!

Helloooo :0)... Well I pretty much blurted it out in the post title didn't I !!!

I was so excited to receive an email from the lovely Laurel Beard asking me to join the Lawnscaping girls this month... playing with such fun stamps, it wasn't a hard decision *wink*
So here I am with the first challenge of October and it's time to mix your favourite Lawn Fawn stamps or dies with Patterned Paper because we are having a ......

I just had to treat myself to some of the new release Lawn Fawn Stamp sets and whilst they are all delicious, I really wanted to ink up Winter in the Park...

I love the peaceful wintery scenes you can make with this set :0)
I've used a strip of snowy paper from the Fa La La paper pad and stamped the lamp-posts in dark grey, giving them shadow and highlights with white pencil and black pen... I love how frosty they look. The twinkling lights and lanterns have been given a glow by applying chalk on and around them.... you have to trust me when I say the camera has not done it any justice :0(
The bench is stamped on a seperate piece of card and given the same treatment as the lamp-posts for a frosty feel then cut away and mounted on foam pads to make a foreground piece.... I just had to glitter that snow cap along the back of the bench :0)

I hope you join in the fun this week, our sponser is the ridiculously well stocked Simon Says Stamp...... check out the Lawnscaping blog for details and to see what the DT girls have made to inspire you to :0)

WCMD Blog Hop (and prize) at Make the Day Special!!

Everyday should be World Card-Making Day..yes?? although today is very much going to be 'Find the Craft-Desk Day' after the few projects I've been making yesterday :0)
                                                       Tara Cardwell's photo.

Some of the DT girlies have a mini blog hop going on over at Make the Day Special, a  very apt name for today, and this is my card which has been inspired by the bright colour palette over at ColourQ this week...

I've used the Wplus9 Milk & Cookies set to add a splash of colour with those cute stripey straws and how cool does that sentiment look embossed in white on black card... I was tempted to turn it into a chalkboard!! The twine.... well I have stacks of the stuff and I hardly use it so I hope you appreciate this rare sighting and my nod to Julie Ebersole's love of knotting the twine ends :0)...pssst, twine is also handy at covering up dusty fingerprints on black cardstock *wink*

There is a list of us DT girlies that are sharing our creativity today over at the Make the Day Special Blog, we'd love you to hop around and see our cards and link up your own card too.... I hear there is a prize up for grabs :0)
Now you're off to Kate's blog or head back here to start from the top.

Happy WCMD and thanks for visiting :0)
