Paper Smooches Sparks - Designer Drafts week

It's Paper Smooches Sparks challenge time and this will be my last blog post on the DT as I've decided to step down from the team. I've had great fun this last year creating using my PS stamps for each challenge and seeing what fabulous cards you enter into the gallery each week too :) ....I'll still need my PS fix and pop up in the challenge gallery occasionally!!

Anyhow, onto this weeks challenge and it's a sketch for you to play with...

I have to say I was temporarily stumped with this one until I decided to shrink the sketch down to a small panel on my card... I usually find this helps :)

I love the Spiffy Scooter set, one of my first PS stamp sets and always fun to colour too :) I thought I'd leave the word 'hi' off the sentiment so the card can be used for any occasion!!
After stamping and colouring the scooter I used the matching die to partially cut the image into the panel and then cut a couple of slits under the sentiment before popping it up on foam tape :)

Here are the links one last time to my teamies playing along this week

All the details can be found over at the PS Sparks blog

I want to say a huge thank you to our wonderful DT co-ordinator Savannah, who works
tirelessly behind the scenes of this challenge... it's been great fun working with you and the rest of the team :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes

Oh my goodness, we are back to another new challenge over at Paper Smooches Sparks and the first week of the month is always Anything Goes. They seem to be your favourite challenge so its a good job they come around often....... we had over sixty fab entries in the gallery last week... Woo Hoo :)

Well I've come back with another 'Puntastic' card for this weeks challenge... I've been wanting to make this card for a while and it finally came together :)

The icons are all from Teen Routine apart from the little bird which is from Woofer and Tweeters. I've used various methods of stamping, embossing and masking to make each app and coloured the backgrounds with markers. The speech bubble in the set was a bit small so I used the back of the computer mouse to stamp and emboss with white powder.... I just drew a little tail with a versamark pen before applying the powder.

The sentiment is from Digits and I carefully inked it without the 'H'.... the apps looked so good on my gridded paper pad I use on my desk so I backed a piece with thin card and used that as my card panel.... who needs designer papers eh?? :)

Here are the links to my teamies playing along this week, don't forget we have some new faces to the DT this month :)          Audrey,  Lisa,   Erin,  Jenny, Savannah

All the challenge details can be found over at the PS Sparks blog.
Thanks for stopping by :)

PS Sparks - (Week 5) Anything Goes

Helloooo there :)
This merry month of May brings us an extra Sunday which means an extra week of Anything Goes fun over at the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge blog... we know it's one of your favourites *wink*

These 'Anything Goes' challenges mean I can flip through my stamps and let the ideas flow and this is when those crazy, fun ideas happen!!!

I just love the arms and legs in the Cute Fruit set, they can be used to bring lots of images to life... like this slice of toast from Wake Up... love that you can shape them to make different poses too :)
The glass is from Free Spirits.. it was tricky to colour but I think I just about pulled it off and the sentiment fits nicely in the speech bubble from Fascinators with space for an exclamation point made with satmps in the fruit set too :)

I hope you find to time to play along with us this week, here are the links to my teamies playing along too

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Anything Goes

We're back around to another new challenge at the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge blog and this week it's Anything Goes which is always a popular theme :)

Well I decided to ink this set up for my card... I don't know, perhaps I was feeling hungry.... I certainly was when I had finished it.. Lol :)
Instead of colouring I used scraps of patterned paper to paper piece the images then tuck them into some rounded corner frames.... I made the fries carton longer so it would fill more of the frame and added some extra fries too... well it does say super-sized!!!
I combined two different sentiments to make it a birthday card.... a good for for the guys I think :)

Here are the links to my teamies playing along this week and you can check out all the challenge details over at the Sparks blog.... we look forward to seeing you in the gallery :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Picture Perfect challenge

It's a Sunday so that means a new challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks.. seriously, how fast do these weeks go by!! We have an inspiration photo for you this week and it has plenty of scope to get your crafty ideas churning :)

I just adore that table top, so much texture and I love all the colours and patterns in the wood too. I have gone quite literal with my interpretation and built my own background pattern to mirror the table top...

Using four different coloured inks I have repeatedly stamped the chevron pattern from the Geobasics stamp set... the teardrop shape inkpads make quite fun patterns on the stamp which add to the faux wood effect :)
The coffee mug is cut using the Coffee & tea dies and I've inlaid a couple of beans and 'glossied' them up too!!
Sentiment is from Cyber cafe... it's quite a simple design and all lovely neutral shades which I love :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Designer Drafts week

Hi there and welcome to a new challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog :)

It's designer drafts week and we have a great sketch for you to play with this week... I decided to flip it onto it's side and then those three little crosses looked like birds on a wire ;)

To make the cloudy backdrop I used the large Big Blooms die and just drew around the metal edge as I moved it along a piece of white card, I then cut along the pencil line with my craft knife. It looked rather flat so I cut the bloom shape with scratch paper and used it as a mask to ink some shadows and depth into my cloudy border :) The birds and sentiment are from Woofers and Tweeters.... I love blue, white and yellow together :)

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's inspiration including our guest designer this week, Karin :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Week

Hi there, it's time for a new challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog and with the first Sunday of the month we bring you an Anything Goes challenge ... I can't believe how quick these weeks are going by!!

I thought I'd use a stamp set that hasn't seen ink yet (shame!!) and enjoy some fun colouring too...

This fun clown from Enjoy the Show just had to be juggling the word Happy. I've been enjoying using the Sassy letter dies in a few projects recently....they're so versatile and these have been die cut in black and heat embossed with Irridescent sparkle powder, just look at that twinkle and shimmer...

Here's the links to my fellow teamies playing along this week and you can find
the linky tool and all the challenge details on the blog here

We hope you join us in the gallery this week, it's fun to see your creations :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes

Good Sunday morning to you and Happy Mothering Sunday if you are in the UK :)

It's time for the new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge and it's Anything Goes this week which means you can be free with your PS stamps and dies :) I was in a floral mood this week with Mothers day on the horizon so I combined the two for my Mum's card...

I'd used these gorgeous flowers from Blossoming buds before but not with my Promarkers and I was in a colouring mood so that's what I went with :) Colouring is a relaxing form of crafting for me and I love the freedom of colour choice for flowers so I went with bright!!
I trimmed around them with scissors as I don't have the dies and then used them as a corner embellishment for a piece of vellum which is the centre piece from the largest Scalloped Frames dies. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and embossed in silver.

Here's the links to my teamies playing along in this weeks challenge too...

Paper Smooches Sparks - Picture Perfect Challenge

It's a photo Inspiration challenge this week for you at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog ...

Theres a lot of scope in that photo... word art, colours and patterns and with my nephews birthday coming up it was just the inspiration I needed :)

I've used the Patterns 1 dies with pigment inks to give a letterpress effect on the shaped background pieces for the Sassy Letters dies. I love the colours and textures.... great for a guys card.
The sentiment was cut twice and layered then a generous coating of glossy accents applied..... they look like they're made from shiny vinyl and the font is pretty cool too :) The rest of the sentiment was made using the Mini Monograms stamp set.

Here are the links to teamies playing along, please go and check out their fab creations too :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge - Designer Drafts Week

It's Sunday so it must be Paper Smooches Sparks challenge time...
two weeks away and it feels so much longer!!!

This week is a sketch challenge and I reckon you're going
to have some fun with it.... don't you always!!??
....flip it, turn it or even shrink it, which is just what I decided to do.....

That large panel in the sketch was a bit scary for me so I scaled it down and turned it into an aperture using the inner square from the Quote tag dies.... I covered the little speech bubble bit up with the kite from Sunny Side up  :)

It was good to do some colouring and fussy cutting again, feels like a while since I have!! The clouds have simple shading and the sentiment is from We Totally Click... it seemed a good match for the brightly coloured kite :)

Here are the links to my teamies playing along, please go and check out their awesome cards too..

All the details on how to play are on the Sparks blog here, hope to see you in the gallery :0)

... and in case you didn't know, if you live in the UK you can find Paper Smooches stamps at Make the Day Special Stamp Store :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes

Hello, I have a card to share with you for the new Paper Smooches Sparks challenge and this week it's Anything Goes...

...it's another punny card.... I just cant help myself when I'm using my PS stamps especially when the sentiments are given to you in a stamp set!!!

I'm not sure if this was the intended use for this phrase from the Happy Birthday stamp set but the chilli pepper in Southwestern Charm came to my mind first of all :) What a great 'tongue in cheek' Valentines card!!!
I trimmed out the two red chillis (which look more orange on the photo!!... grrr ) and raised them up for my focal point.... a good coating of glossy accents gives them a nice smooth sheen too but, because of the camera angle, you'll have to take my word for that I'm afraid ;)

Here are the links to my teamies, please go and check out there fab cards too

We look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery :)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes Week

Whoooosh... and we're back to Sunday again which means a new challenge over at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog and this week it's Anything Goes.

I've gone puntastic this week!!..... this idea has been bursting to get out of my head and onto a card since I saw the Cute Fruit stamp set and the fun alphas in Sassy Script just helped it to happen....

I love inking up these solid fruits in various colours of ink to give them shape and dimension and I reckon purple and green make such an eye-catching colour combo too :0)

To help make the phrase I hunted through my stamps and found the right wording in Chit Chat along with a couple of alpha stamps in the Graffiti set. I love that you can mix and match sentiments by using some simple masking of stamps :0)

I pondered the idea of adding a small heart but decided that leaving it off would make the card more versatile... after all, it doesn't have to be for Valentines :0)

As always, please check out my teamies cards for more inspiration

Check out the PS Sparks blog for details and please play along too....we love to see your cards in the gallery :0)

Paper Smooches Sparks - Picture Perfect Challenge

Hello and welcome to the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, this week is the turn of the photo inspiration challenge and it's a gorgeous picture with lots of potential...

You could quite easily go Christmas with this photo if you want to get yourself ahead.... perish the thought!!! Oh no... for me the silver birch logs jumped out so I used the Autumn Groves stamp set and Backdrop Builders dies to make a woodland scene...

...and peering out of the woods stands this adorable little deer from Happy Camper, all alone and missing his/her friend. The sentiment is from the beautiful Scripty Sayings and I'll follow it up by stamping 'my Deer' inside the card.... you know I can't resist a play on words *wink* :)

Please be sure to visit my teamies for more amazing inspiration

You can find all the details about the challenge as always over at the Paper Smooches Sparks Blog, we hope you can play along as we love to see your cards in the gallery :0)

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts Week

Good Morning,
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and have recovered from the mad rush beforehand!!
If you're feeling in need some crafting therapy in the midst of the festive season, we have a new sketch for you this week at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge...
I decided to change up the bow for a vase of flowers using the Crystal Clear 3 dies, Pocket Dies and Flower dies..

The dotted line die makes a great accent to ground the vase and the sentiment is from Salutations.

We hope you can join us this week and don't forget to visit my teamies for more fab inspiration for this weeks sketch...

All the usual challenge details can be found over at the Sparks blog :0)

Well that's all from me until 2015 so I want to wish you a Healthy and Happy New Year... see you next year !!

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes

Hello there :0)

It's the first challenge of the month at Paper Smooches Sparks and we're kicking off as always with an Anything Goes challenge..... I'm still on Christmas cards although I have to say I'll be glad to put my Christmas stamps away soon :0)

Okay, so this card doesn't actually use many Christmas Stamps and I've had this idea before... pairing up that goofy Monster and the term 'handsome' that is!!! Now it's even easier because I don't have to spell it out... it's part of the Headliners Stamp set :0)

I couldn't resist using the Mistletoe and the Santa Hat..... why it could be a scene from any office party... Hehehe :0)
I don't usually give hubby a Christmas card but this year may be an exception... although he's not actually green with brown horns... honestly :0)

Here are the links to my fellow teamies, please stop by and see their fab projects as well :0)

Hop over to the blog for all the challenge details and we look forward to you playing along too.

Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes Week

Hello there :0)

It's a 5th Sunday in November so that means an extra week of fun at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge blog with an Anything Goes theme...

I've been playing with the new Cool Dudes stamp set and the large 'build a snowman' collection of stamps in the set to be precise!! I love his friendly face, especially when you dot his eyes with enamel accents to give them some real life twinkle :0)

He's peeking through the cute wonky scalloped frame from Just for you dies and the sentiment is from the Christmas Sampler stamp set.

I'm sure you'll want to play along so do check out the rest of the DT's projects...I think we're all playing along this week :0)

Welcome!!

Hello and as the title says...Welcome to a new challenge at Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge.
It's everyones favourite this week.. Anything Goes, let your creativity run wild with those stamps and dies!!

I had some new stash arrive this week so it was put to use straightaway for this 'Welcome to the Neighbourhood' card with a gardening theme.....

I have a mild obsession at the moment with colouring those adorable vegtables from Green Thumb. I had used this set for my Hubby's birthday card last week and it was still on my desk so I had to use it again... not to mention it's a perfect match for the woodgrain plate in the new Patterns 1 die set :0)
I took a tip from the very talented Pamela Ho, and inked the Woodgrain die with dark brown ink before running it through my bigshot with some Kraft card.... it looks just fab!!
I cut the new Welcome die three times and stacked them for extra dimension onto the woodgrain piece...then it was just a case of playing with the pieces to fit the square card!!

I had coloured one of the peapods in too and couldn't bare to leave it out so I popped it into the inside along with the rest of the sentiment :0)

As always here are the links to the rest of my teamies, make sure you visit them to check out their projects too :0)

We look forward to seeing you in the gallery... all the details can be found at the PS Sparks blog here :0)
