....just popping by the neglected blog to share an ice cream or three with you :0) It's my attempt to try and pretend we are having a summer!!
This is the card I'm sharing over at Make the Day Special blog today and I've used Lawn Fawn stamps to make an ice cream, .... but Lawn Fawn don't have an ice cream stamp.... yep, I made one up instead :0)....
I used the gnomes hat from 'Gnome Sweet Gnome' and the top of the pie from 'My Silly Valentine' to make my yummy treats and I really love how stamping with tone on tone ink colours have given them a softer feel :0)
I'm not so happy with the sentiment, I cut the stamp in half so as to stamp it in the oval and it says 'Keep Cool' but now when I look at it it reads 'Keep Coal'....it looked perfectly fine when read on one line, how strange is that!!!
I haven't forgotten about showing you James's newly decorated bedroom we are still in the process of sorting his stuff out... we are having a toy cull because we are in danger of having more than the local branch of Toys'r'us!!! He will still quite happily play with pre-school toys and we think now is the time to loose some of them whilst redecorating and re-organising his room.
Everything is taking longer though because of the summer hols including crafting and commenting so apologies for not getting round to you all... I'll catch up eventually :0)
Thanks for looking and don't forget, if you live outside the States, you can buy Lawn Fawn stamps along with other American brands at Make the Day Special, too many to list so go check them out :0)

Super design, Jenny. Great use of stamps and fab paper piecing!
ReplyDeleteYour ice creams are genius! And that would be the only way I'd use a gnome stamp too - I find them a little creepy I'm afraid... I've had My Silly Valentine on my wish list for ages and I think it's finally time I get it! :)
ReplyDeleteLots of cleaning and culling going on here to. After completely emptying the kitchen to set off a bug bomb I refused to put everything back in the cupboards. Half of it is now on it's way to the charity shop. I'm so sick of things sitting around and collecting dust (and housing bugs). I'm going for minimalist! :)
Love how you combined all the patterns on those gorgeous ice cream cones! And...we are our own worst critics...I read it immediately as keep cool...until I read your post and now I see the keep coal :)!! Looking forward to the pictures of James room! We are in clothes clean out mode...seeing what things fit from spring for fall!
ReplyDeleteA pie and a hat!!?? You are amazing! Love everything about this card..the colors, the layout, the little tabs at the top...so sweet!
ReplyDeleteIce Cream...yes please...this is too cute..I love the paper pieced ice creams and great design...super cute..love it
ReplyDeleteMorning!!! Such a sweet card!
ReplyDeleteJenny you are hands down AMAZING at getting the most from your stamps. Brilliant idea to use the gnome hat for the cone.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Karen
What a fun and yummy card. I can't believe that those were not really ice cream stamps!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your kind comments. Love your ice creams and in such yummy flavours!

This is so creative Jenny and it looks so textured somehow. Godd luck with the toy cull. We never had much luck with those for some reason - all the toys suddenly became treasures that had to be kept for all time!!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant use of those stamps! Yummy cones. ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun summery design... sounds like things aren't so hot right there at the moment. We are in the middle of winter and I am so looking forward to summer! Hope you can find some crafty time soon!
ReplyDeleteI love the drip and the little tabs on the top. Only you could make ice cream out of a hat. My heroine... xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteOh go on then .. .. I will go for the chocolate cone if that's OK LOL!!
Great card!
Love your twinkling star card too. Just fabulous.
Hope you are having a great weekend.
Love Jules xx
That really is thinking outside the box, a fabulous card.
ReplyDeleteThis is so dang clever of you you! I adore the color combination featured here as well. Good luck with the cleaning and purging, I need to find a place where I can donate some supplies!
ReplyDeleteDelicious! I love how your brain works, Jenny!

Mmmm yummy! Love these fresh colours!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable Jenny. Love those strips of paper
ReplyDeleteI think you are one of the most versatile stampers I know you and Vicky Hayes amaze me with how many different uses you can get out of your stamps. Once more a glorious happy fun card and it looked like cool until you mentioned coal . Cant wait to see the photos of James room.

These are just fabulous Jenny, what a fun card!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a CUTE summer card Jenny! Loving those tiny circles peeking out and the sentiment tag is really adorable! Great card!!!

OK, that's genius! Love the fun way you put these ice creams together!
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the preschool toy culling...it's a hard call to make. I'm no stranger to being asked to find a 1" toy chicken. No, not THAT chicken, or the 7 others I found, but this SPECIFIC toy chicken...I am generally quite afraid to reduce because of that. Good luck!
Brilliant. I love your ice creams, Jenny. You're so clever. :)
ReplyDeleteeeek! so cute! i love the rounded tabs and the layout. great design :)
