Hello.... It's Friday and nearing the end of the school holidays here in the UK, James goes back next Thurs and that first morning is going to be hard work!!!
So with the new school term looming you'll understand that it's no coincidence that this weeks challenge at CASual Fridays has a school theme to it then :0)
This week we want to see your cards for those starting or going back to school.... teachers or pupils!!!
The sponsor this week is Pretty Paper Studio, check out there store here.
I have to say I have never made or received a 'Back to School' card.... kinda feels like your rubbing salt in the wound!! ... it was bad enough having to buy new uniform as soon as the school holidays started! .... you can tell I didn't like school much can't you *wink*
I decided to make a denim rucksack for my card as a new school bag was possibly the best bit of going back in September along with new pens and a pencil case :0)
I used various shape dies to make the bag and pencil and the sentiment is computer generated using 'Chalkdust' font.
Remember to check out the CASual Fridays blog where you will see Piali has joined us this week as our newest Girl Friday...I hope you pop by to make her feel welcome :0)
Thanks for looking :0)
Jenny x
What a fun little backpack!!!
ReplyDeleteI LIKE the font used for this post! :0)
ReplyDeletePerfect card for back to school and love your school bag
ReplyDeleteAnne
My two are both so excited to go back - this summer has gone very smoothly, actually, much better than I thought it would with little routine. My youngest especially is excited with all the new supplies - always my fave, new pencilcrayons & markers, all that great "new stuff" that looks a million years old seconds after you use it ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the bag you've made - so clever, along with the fab pencil! And that font is so awesome.
I don't get the back to school card thing either - I never minded school but not sure i would have wanted to celebrate it with a card! I love your rucksack though - clever alternative use for the pocket dies.
ReplyDeleteHope James' first day back goes well.

ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! I have gone back to school this week, and would love a card to cheer me up! This is so wonderful - love your rucksack (backpack here) design. The primary colors are perfect and that little pencil, the perfect touch. Enjoy this last week of break before James goes back. xo
ReplyDeleteYour denim bag is uber cool (I was never very cool at school, but I would have been if I had one of these)! Love it Jenny!
ReplyDeleteI definitely remember the fabulous feel of a new school bag, ditto the pencil case and stationery. I never changed really... I still love stationery, just it's more of a crafting nature now!
ReplyDeleteWell it's time to face the music. It really is back to school.....at least your sweet card injects some fun into the occasion! :D
ReplyDeleteHugs!

ReplyDeleteOh, I so agree about rubbing salt in the wound! I like all the fall and school looking things, but never the fact of leaving behind the summer for school work! Very fun backpack, I love the straps and the stitching.
ReplyDeleteWow, you made the backpack using different dies?! Amazing! Love the ribbon straps. And I totally laughed at your comment "rubbing salt in the wound" ... you're completely right! A sympathy card?!?
