I haven't got into the craftroom this week and this usually results in some pretty dire attempts to get back into the groove...and it did, despite trying to use the current inspiration at the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge !
I finally came up with something I was happy with for my Make the Day Special blog post .....
I went with the pattern from the bottom left of the photo which inspired the leaf pattern but the maize colour was giving me a headache on how to include it until I spotted the spotty paper!! I've not really tried stamping on patterned paper unless its for paper piecing but I love how these leaves have appeared dotty because the white spots make the brown ink look darker.
I didn't want to risk the blue ink on yellow... fearing some green yuck colour would result, so I punched the flowers from Lawn Fawn paper and 'glossy acccented' the centres after popping them on the branches :0)
.....mmm, pretty happy with it, cant believe how long it took though *tut tut*
Anyway, we are off out today to make use of a dry day..... I can sort of remember what they are *said in a thoughtful voice*
Oh and just to let you UK stampers know that the new release Lawn Fawn stamps should be in at Make the Day Special after the weekend and hopefully some new Paper Smooches too, keep checking here for when they arrive or better still 'Like' the shop on Facebook for all the updates.
Thanks for looking, catch up with you all later :0)

ReplyDeleteHi Jenny
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely welcome back to blogland.
I am now catching up with everyone. So many busy blogs!!! It must have been the Jubilee break that did it!!
Loving all the posts you have done since my last visit. My favourite being the "keep calm" one. What a brilliant idea. Love the Union Jack umbrella!!
Our post office is actually part of a large chemist and when I went to post some boxes off last week I noticed that the chemist part had a walking stick that was covered in a Union Jack pattern. It made me smile!
Hope you have had a good weekend Jenny and that the coming week is kind to you.
Take care.
Love Jules xx
Your patterned panel is fab and I love the little flowers. If you find out where the week and the weather went can you tell me cos I can't find them either!! x

OMG I meant nearly!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! I just love the way this turned out - love the dotty leaves and how you got to them. The little turquois flowers really finish it beautifully. I love it! We had horrible weather here too on my first day of freedom from school. Went to the beach and sat in the fog and rain until we could take it no longer. Hope things clear up for both of us!
ReplyDeleteI really like those leaves stamped on the polka dot paper, Jenny, and the little blue flowers are fabulous. Hope you get some sunshine! Ann Y.
