A Scrap Map and Colour Combo 10

Afternoon Everyone ,

I have another Scrapbook page to share with you today for this weeks Scrap map challenge and also Emilie's colour combo , which is her tenth combination so is offering a prize for one lucky submission .

The scrap map theme this week is birds so I decided to use pictures of a rather obliging peacock at a local open garden last year .

This is one of those LO's that I started then nearly threw out but I decided to keep on with it and I am sort of happy with it . It was really difficult to photograph as the blue green background is shimmery/interference type of paint and it seems to have drained the colour from the pink blooms in the photo .

This is perhaps a better colour representation . The flower branch was cut with the Cricut machine and the pink flowers were dampened and scrunched up to give them shape before adding them to the branch .

This is the sketch and colour combo for this week

If you want to join in either of the challenges just click on the links at the start of the post to see more details :)
Thanks for stopping by today X

Less is more #13 meets Clean and Simple

Morning everyone ,

It's Lucky dip week this week at LIM , our first because April happens to fall with 5 weeks .
In celebration of the success of this great weekly challenge blog we are required to make a Thank you or Congratulations card , it certainly is great fun and inspirational taking part , and was the first challenge blog to get me started on my blog. This week Kerry is a Guest designer too so hop over and check out the blog links .
Thank you Chrissie and Mandi X

I've decided to make a Thank you card and combine the design sketch from Clean & Simple too .
The buttons are made using dies from MFT that cut and emboss the buttons at the same time . The patterned card is Pink Petticoat digi papers , I printed onto various textures of light cardstock to get different effects including off cuts of glossy photo paper to make the shiny buttons .
I've stitched a border and then used a quikutz needle die to embellish the sentiment , which is 'Fiddle Farts Dotty Font' which I bought from Helen's blog . The colours are following Emilie's Colour Combo for this week and this is the Clean and Simple sketch .

Thanks for looking xx

Mini Pop Art

Hi Folks ,
Just popping along to share with you a card I've made for OLW using Emilie's colour combination for this week .
I'm not sure how I came up with this idea only by looking through my stamps knowing I could not use layers on the card . As the stamp is small I decided to go for a small square card , first I masked a square in the centre of card base and stamped the graph background from Hero Arts . I used a homemade stencil to ink the squares and in two of them I used a mask of the mini stamp to leave white space to stamp the mini in afterwards , IYKWIM .
I used Adirondack ink pads and water brush to add colour to the minis and then used Tim Holtz bitty grunge stamps around edge of card .
I managed to get in a total inky mess and you don't want to see the back of the card.....I kept forgetting about the ink on my wipeable craft mat !!!
Haven't added a sentiment yet because I couldn't decide what to use .

As I type this my 15 yr old lad is on his way home from school in his taxi getting very excited about seeing our new washing machine we had delivered today ! Anyone would think it was Christmas day in our house this morning he was that excited......that's Autism for you , who needs toys , and I bet he'll know how to use it quicker than I do !

Clean and Simple with pastels

Afternoon folks,
Whilst visiting blogs I see lots of different challenges to take part in .... so many it makes my head buzz , but this sketch appealed to me over at Clean and Simple so I decided to give it a go and use Emilie's colour palette this week too .
The flowers are twisted strips of satin with a gem in the middle of each and the stems are just hand cut from paper . I have stamped large polka dots onto the pink textured paper and applied a lilac ribbon before mounting onto a Champagne coloured card blank .
I should have made it a mothers day card , oh well I can always make another version :)
Thanks for looking X

Once more off the edge !

Hello folks
I'm back again with another card for the LIM challenge 'off the edge' style card. My mind works overtime with these challenges and I just have to try my ideas out .

These are a set of stamps from Stampendous and the sentiment is from a different company... Woodware I think . I like the simplicity of the silhouettes but added little pink butterflies (which you can hardly see on the picture) to compliment the monochrome colours .

I'd also like to share a card I made following a colour prompt on Emilies blog here . I know bunting is in vogue at the moment and the puppet strings in the picture gave me the idea . I thought the colours would look better against the Kraft card .

I really like the minimal look and the colours work well together but not a choice I would have made myself so thanks Emilie .
Thanks for looking x
