Top Dog

Hi there :)

I have a bit of a craving for retro at the moment and I still have had the Top Dog stamp set from MFT un-inked so I thought I'd better do something about it.....

I love these colours together... they remind me of illustrations in old books and these dogs are the perfect style to match that retro look too. I first saw Nina Yang of Waffleflower Crafts colour images and leave a small white sliver of a gap... it looks so cool ....

I used four shades of copics to colour these doggies and there backgrounds... nice to not have to think about extra shading with simple colouring like this :)

A Lorry Load of Coffee

Hello there... did that title catch your attention?

Well I DO have a lorry for you today .....with a huge cup of coffee on board!!

I've used the large frame die from MFT's Blueprints 28 die set...... it just looked like the back of a lorry to me :)... Add some wheels, wing mirrors, lights and a number plate and you can see what I mean.
I've used a coffee themed die and stamp on the outside and then when you open up the back....

.... a large take-out cup of coffee, courtesy of the Costa giftcard (thank you Costa). I think we all know someone that would appreciate a huge delivery of coffee like this but this lorry could easily contain a giant birthday cake or a big number, you know, one of those ones ending in a zero *wink* and if you flipped the frame 180° the back would open downwards as a ramp up into the lorry which could easily be filled with animals instead!! An ideal project to personalise for the recipient :)

I'm on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today sharing this card where I have a few more details and a couple more photos if you're interested .. just click here :)

Hippo Birdie to You !

Hello there :)
This months challenge over at Seven Hills Crafts is a colour challenge... my oh my these months are rattling along!!
The palettes are based around the colour blue which we want to see as the predominant shade in your project...

I have a simple card this month using the middle set of colours... the grey and yellow just called for these little characters...

This one came together as I went along, no plan, and the blue card base looked a little too plain so I stamped MFT's Watercolour Stripes twice to give a tone on tone wavy chequerboard.... ahhh much better :) You can't see from the photo but I've dotted the musical notes with black enamel accents amd glossy accents on the balloon... that's quite a lot of embellishment for me!!

The gallery is already filling with fabulous cards, all the details and prize info can be found HERE along with the Linky tool so please come and join in too :)

Pink Flower Power

Hi there, I've had a chance to play along with the PINK cue word at CASology... I thought I'd strike while the mojo was in the room ;)

I do love this little VW camper by Avery Elle, I've decorated it before using
other stamps from the same set but this time I just had to use a small Lawn Fawn flower
to go with the pink ombre colour.

I used the same masking technique I did for these VW's and clear embossed the flowers
before sponging the colour over them. When it was all done I placed a couple of sheets of printer paper on top and used a warm iron (no steam) to remove the embossing powder.
Sentiment is made using a small alphabet from Concord & 9th.

Floral Patterns

Hellooo,
It's my turn on the Seven Hills Crafts blog today and I'm back to one of my favourite styles... stamping out patterns and this time it's florals ....

I love this whimsical set from Lil'inkers... basic layering and nice bold shapes which go so perfectly with yummy retro colour schemes :) I softly inked the edges of the panel to add that extra vintage feel and to disguise the difference in shades of white cardstock ;)
Nothing more needed than a small banner sentiment.

My next card is much smaller and holds a gift card. I've used the Hero Arts/Lia Griffith set called Just for You... I love this small set... more retro style flowers to play with :)

It was fun colouring this one, just a few Prisma pencils in bright colours :)

Rooting For You

Hi there :)

Well, apparently today is International Carrot Day... and we have been getting our allotment season under way this Easter break by sowing carrot seed this weekend so a carrot themed card seems most appropriate I think....

I adore anything veggie in the craft world and if you can add faces, arms and legs all the better :) This is my card over on the Seven Hills Crafts blog and I've used Lawn Fawns Rooting for You with limbs courtesy of Paper Smooches.
I love the very enthusiastic little guy... talk about a carrot uprising!! The Small Talk speech bubble is a perfect size for this confident little carrot...

Hehehe... as sweet as this bunch is,
I'm hoping our carrots don't go jumping out of the soil and start shouting about!!

More details can be found over on my DT blog post here.
Thanks for stopping by :)
