Paper Smooches Sparks (Bonus Week) Anything Goes

Good Sunday morning to you :0)
Well August has no less than five Sundays so that means we can squeeze an extra Anything Goes challenge week in at Paper Smooches Sparks.

I turned to a previously un-inked stamp set for this weeks card... Market Fresh and all it's cute grocery items to colour...

I've stamped, coloured and cut them out to make a display behind one of the banners from the Streamers stamp set but my most favourite stamp in the set has to be those scissors :0)
I love how they are part drawn which gave me the idea to trim them out and tuck them behind the curled piece of card. The dotted line is traced over a perforated line made using the Straight Stitched die.

Here are the links to my fellow teamies playing along this week or hop over to the blog for more details

Look forward to seeing you in the gallery, thanks for stopping by :0)

Paper Smooches Sparks Designer Drafts Challenge

Oakie Dokie it's Designer Drafts week over at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog and the sketch has lots of potential as always.....

I had fun with this one and turned the sketch 90 degrees for my card
and changed up the position of the sentiment :0)

Just look at that kitty's expression!!....
I should have stamped a halo over his head *wink*

Yes he's the playful character from Chubby Chums and he's,
*ahem* innocently watching over the fish bowl from Nine Lives.
Love that phrase from Slang Gang in the Speech Bubble... I think it's fair to say
I was inspired by the Tom and Jerry cartoons
where you never got to see the owner, just hear her shout :0)

So did he or didn't he?...... I'll let you decide :0)

Here's the rest of the links to the DT or visit the blog here

Look forward to seeing you in the gallery :0)
Just to let you know that Paper Smooches stamps and dies are available here in the UK at Make the Day Special Stamp Store.

New Tricks!!

Hello again, I'm taking the opportunity to craft while James is staying with my Mum and Dad for a couple of nights :0)
Good timing it appears too, as Less is More's challenge is Animals this week.... I'm always to be found when that word is mentioned as I have a soft spot for them...... they're lot easier to colour than people for card-making purposes too... Lol :0)

I love how this little Lawn Fawn daschund is flying along so I made a brightly coloured hoop for him to jump through using strips of coloured paper and two oval dies. It's a small card so not much white space but still a clean and simple design...... couldn't resist a cheeky sentiment *wink*

ColourQ Campervans

Hi There :0)
I'm a bit behind sharing some of my MtDS blog projects this summer and the ColourQ palette jogged my memory of a recent one layer card I made using the camper vans from Avery Elle... the colours are a brilliant match so I just hope Arielle and the girls wont mind me entering it despite it's apperarance on the store blog :0)

To jazz these little vans up I made a reverse mask to add some personalised decoration using the motifs in the set....

Don't they look cool with the graphics overlapping the windows too..... I would love one like this :0)

Create A Smile Stamps August Release Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to the Create a Smile August Release Blog Hop :0)
Today I'm joining a whole bunch of talented ladies to help Christine launch her August release at Create a Smile Stamps.....

Create A Smile are a new stamps company in town - their first stamps were released in July 2014. The stamps are made of high quality photo-polymer and produced in Germany. They will for sure make you smile!

These are the facts:
Create A Smile is releasing two sets TOMORROW! You can find their store at www.createasmilestamps.com
There are TWO fun sets filled with super cute images, available for purchase at 8am CET (2am EST).

Christine asked via Facebook for ideas/themes for our blog hop projects and I went with Manuela Stockreiters request to use buttons.... they were the perfect finishing touch on this rather cute snowman...

This has to be the earliest I've made a Christmas card but with this cheeky little fella in the set I couldn't resist :0) I've simply cut a wonky window and placed some patterned paper behind it so the snowman could peek through the aperture... the sentiment was made on the computer using a font called Tall Paul :0)

Now for the important blog hop details...

You can win a $15 gift-certificate for the store - all you need to do is hop along and leave comments on all the fantastic and inspiring stops (one comment per person, per blog please!). We’ll pick random winner from all the comments - so the more blogs you visit (and leave a comment on) - the more chances you have to be a winner!
You have until Saturday August, 9th 8am CET (that's 2am EST). The winner will be announced on the Create A Smile Blog on Sunday (July 13th)
Enjoy the Hop!

PS Sparks Anything Goes Challenge

Hello there....... it's time again for an Anything Goes challenge at the Paper Smooches Sparks blog, time to get those stamps and dies in use :0)

It's always hard to choose an idea for this challenge but seeing as the Cat Icon dies had just arrived I went with them....

Haha... I did think about making this a good luck card but prefered that thick loopy font of 'Hello' from Bold Buzzwords on the wall instead!!
I turned my hand to a spot of bricklaying to make the wall using a rectangle from Geobasics and used grey promarkers to shade it but my favourite bit of this card are the craters on the moon.... I added droplets of water to the card after inking the moon with distress inks.... you see, the moon is made of cheese :0)

Here are the links to the rest of the DT, I hope you can play along.... check out all the info at the Sparks blog

You can purchase Paper Smooches Stamps ans Dies here in the UK at Make the Day Special, for a big selection and a fast friendly service click on the link above :0)

A Colour Challenge at Make the Day Special

Hello hello :0)

Pinch and a punch, 1st day of the month and a new monthly challenge at Make the Day Special!! This month we have a colour challenge so you can all come out of hiding from last months CASE it task *wink*

If you hop over to the MtDS blog you'll see a set of three colour palettes to choose from... Summer through to Autumn, so let the colours inspire you and use at least one product that is sold in the store on your project and you can play along for a chance to win a £15 gift voucher to spend at Make the Day Special :0)

I decided to leave the orange out of this palette and use my Fresh Picked stamp set from Wplus9 for my card..... Have you spotted the Blackberries already starting to ripen on the brambles?.... I have my eye on a few good patches ready to go picking *wink*

Oh my goodness.... to say I'm pleased with how these turned out is an understatement!!.... I could just reach out and pick one!!!
After planning out on scrap paper the positioning of the leaves and berries I set about stamping them using masks in a mixture of Stampin Up and Memento inks.... then the fun begins using Prismacolour Pencils to add shading and highlights.
The juicyness comes from small dots of glossy accents on the berries that just to help pick up and reflect the light.
To add some extra contrast I used my craft knife to cut away the top half of the card panel and using foam pads I mounted it onto a gorgeous deep blackcurrant coloured card base.

It's the last day of this weeks challenge over at Less is More and because the week started with Chrissie's birthday they are having a Anything Goes party so I didn't want to miss out on that birthday bash :0)
Hope you had a wonderful birthday week away Chrissie!!

We'd love to see you join in this months challenge over at Make the Day Special, I look forward to seeing how these colours inspire you, all the details can be found over at the blog here.
