Hello crafty friends
It just so happens that I have a couple of cards for this weeks One Layer Wednesday which is being hosted by Susan this week...... I haven't played along for ages and it's a complete fluke that my cards fit this weeks theme which is to use one stamp in two different ways.
I've used the leaves from Wplus9 'Fresh Picked' as they were meant to be on the first card but then couldn't help wonder if I could use them to make a Poinsettia on a CAS Christmas card...... They are such pretty flowers but I can never get them to flower again the following year!!!
I haven't got round to posting on my blog (apart from DT stuff) since our Nephews wedding a couple of weekends ago so I thought I'd share a photo of the kiddos on the day..... no snaps of us all together yet, that's why I have the camera round my neck on these occasions.... so I'm always behind it *wink*
This is about as smart as James gets and it's always a challenge to keep him looking that way! Hannah was complaining how short she felt!!! well at 6'4" I suppose he does tower over a lot of people :0)
Thanks for looking :0)

6' 4" holy moly James is very, very tall! I am only 5'1" so I can certainly sympathize with Hannah. they both look so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your cards...so clever on the poinsettia leaves!
Beautiful cards, so creative! Great photo of your kiddums...it's obvious they love each other a lot. Hope you're well.

These are gorgeous!! How did you get the fabulous colours on the first card? Was it just inking or did you colour over the inked image? I love it! And the poinsettia is genius!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, James is tall! :) They look fabulous and I love Hannah's gorgeous dress!
Such a creative use of that leaf stamp Jenny and the colouring on the berries is fab! I'm afraid my box is locked, I never seem to thin out of it!!

ReplyDeleteYour cards are so pretty
6'4"??? how tall are you? I can only dream (I am 5'2"). I love the berry card, especially the way it has the mix of colors in it.
ReplyDeleteLove the shades of the berries!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful use of those leaves!
ReplyDeleteSo great to 'meet'your kids!
Your cards are amazing, I especially love those berries! 6'4" is very tall, no wonder she feels short, they look like they are having so much fun! TFS!
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS cards!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea too to use the leaves in this way!
Super way to use your stamp in two different ways. They've come out smashing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pic! x
Aww, Jenny, what a gorgeous photo of James and Hannah! I love her dress. I know just how she feels as my eldest son is 6ft 6ins and I'm 5ft 6ins. I always feel tiny next to him!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards as always. Love the stamps you've used.
xx
The first card is BEAUTIFUL! I'm loving the gradient stamping of the berries!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Jenny! I love the colours you created in the berry card, and I love the creativity of making a wreath out of the leaves in the second one, so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow, James IS tall! :-) Looking at the photo, I'm pretty sure Hannah would feel tall beside me (at 5'5"). :-)
Great portrait of the kids, Jenny, looking sharp for the wedding. Your James really is a tall drink of water!!
ReplyDeleteYour cards are also sharp looking, but, shut up, using the leaf image in red to make your poinsettia?! Barrrrilliant!!
Hannah and James are looking very, very smart here Jenny and quite excited too! Love Hannah's outfit - did she break into a spot of spontaneous flamenco later on?! Your cards are gorgeous too of course - I love the way the leaves morph into a poinsettia. Vicky x
ReplyDeleteThese are really fabulous! Love the way you inked the berries! tfs
ReplyDeleteoh my your cards are amazing....great photo too! hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Oh what a fun and interesting challenge! Love how you turned the leaves into a poinsettia, it totally works! And the negative white space left by the stem makes a perfect flower center thingy.
ReplyDeleteSo, is James great at basketball? Just kidding, as a tall girl (5'10") I used to HATE getting that question all the time. I had no coordination, but everyone assumed since I was tall I must be good at the sport. So not true.
How lovely to see a pic of your son and daughter! I take a lot of pics when mine are dressed up too (doesn't happen too often;). Such a great pic of both of them!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love what you've done with that WPlus9 set! Absolute genius! Sometimes experiments don't pan out, but this one is a total success! Thanks for the inspiration today (and every day:)! Have a super weekend Jenny!
Gorgeous cards Jenny, love the stamping effect on the first one. Thanks for sharing your photo, I can sympathise with Hannah too, I am only 5'1"! xx
ReplyDeleteVery clever one stamp two ways interpretation. You see things in such a unique way! I love the pic of James and Hannah. Ho glad to be catching up on your blog. It has been too long. hugs.
