Hearts and flowers

Morning all :0)

Talk about sporadic blogging!! I'd love a few more hours in the day to get everything done but I somehow think it would still not be enough!!!

Lets start with Less is More this week which has a fabulous CAS sketch to work with drawn up by Jen.... soooo many possibilities but I decided to use the ColourQ palette this week which is yummy.... seriously those colours look edible to me!!!

Anyhow, as you can see I went with Spring blossom instead of food and I have to tell you about the texture on the cream panel which I embossed with a piece of hessian, or burlap if you prefer. I saw the idea on Pinterest and had to give it a go with some trial and error making a sandwich to go through the bigshot..... I think it was Multi-purpose platform (no Tabs), Acrylic plate, rubber embossing mat, hessian, card, shim (I used a piece of chipboard) and then Acrylic plate. Have a go, it gives you a texture a bit like Aida fabric :0)

This is my DT card from Saturday but I haven't had chance to blog it yet and it just so happens to fit in the Addicted to CAS challenge which is 'Heart'..

I wanted to try the "no-lines" style of colouring so I used the button from a Lawn Fawn set and stamped them in Memento Ladybug before shading with Red and white Prisma Pencils..... I love how 3D they look on a One Layer card!!! .... fooled hubby :0)

So that's all from me today, I need to go and tidy up my craft-desk...or should I say find it!!!

Thanks for stopping by

Tea and Friendship

There's nothing like a good natter over a cuppa with friends.... even better if it involves crafting too, so this weeks challenges at Less is More and CASology go together perfectly and having spotted a new challenge blog starting this week called Muse, I knew how I wanted my card to look after I saw Amy's beautiful design.....

I really wanted to try the new blackboard craze that I keep seeing in Blogland.... to be honest when I emboss on black I usually get that effect so I'm quite happy I could liberally use my Inkadinkado Powder Brush without worrying about it :0) Looking at it now I should have put a stick of chalk in the foreground too.

The tea set is an MFT Dienamics diecut which I've inked with Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed DI to give dimension and used the polkas from the matching stamp set to add the pattern to the pot and cups. The sentiment is from the same set but I wanted "Friendship" to be a larger font so I used a Woodware alphabet instead :0)

I would love a tea set like that..... how cheery would that be first thing in the morning!!???

Thanks for stopping by :0)

Meow!!

Hello there,

Just popping by with a card that I made for my DT slot at Make the Day Special yesterday which fits in with the 'Blue' challenge at CASology this week..... it was also meant for Retro Sketches but hey, I missed that deadline :0(

I love this vocal little chap from Paper Smooches and he's so engrossed in his singing Happy Birthday that the little mouse has sneaked into the picture too!!

We've had steady light snow falling today so the various feeders we have in the garden have attracted lots of colourful wild birds which have been joined today by over a dozen fieldfares picking berries off the hawthorn bushes. With the help of some bait in the form of apple halves on the ground, I've got some lovely photos of these colourful relatives of the song thrush...

I took the photos through the french doors so I'm quite pleased with the sharpness of them..... they are very comical birds to watch and soon had the upper hand of the frenzied feeding area!!!

Thanks for stopping by
