Uniko May Release Day Blog Hop

Woo Hoo!!
Today is release day over at Uniko, yes its the day you can purchase
the stamps, dies and stencil. You'll have to wait a little bit longer though...just
until 9pm this evening so in the mean time we have an inspirational Blog Hop and
by leaving comments along the way means you're in with a
chance of winning the whole release!!

So how about some more inspiration for this release?? Well first up is this rather retro scene
using the Mid Century Modern background which is teamed up with a couple of leaves from
Paradise Leaves... the vase has been made using shapes from the Mid Century Modern Florals.

Talking of Mid Century Florals... I wanted to try more combinations to make different
flowers and even some insects... eek!! look at how cute that bumble bee is 😊

For my last card I had a wedding or anniversary in mind for the Sketchy Foliage
stamp which is embossed in white on pale pink vellum.
I tried a little subtle shading on the leaves using an embossing stylus to
gently rub over the vellum on the back of the image...

So now it's time to pass you on to Carols blog for more inspiration, the whole hop list
can be found over at the Uniko Blog HERE and the new release will be available to
purchase HERE at 9pm GMT this evening.

Don't forget to comment along the hop for a chance to win, you have until midnight
Sunday 12th May and the winner will be announced a few days later.

I'd like to take this opportunity to once again thank Bev and her team of talented
ladies for asking me to join them for the May Release, it's been such fun playing
with and showcasing the new products and I hope you enjoy them too 😊

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko May Release - Intro to Big & Bold Wish Designer Dies

Well we've reached the last day of Uniko's May Release sneak peaks... that went quickly!!

Today we have Designer Dies to coordinate with the previously
released Big & Bold Wish stamp set..

With these dies you can cut the candles and flames out along with the lovely
big Wish sentiment and a shadow for it too...

I decided to not only cut the candles out but also make three apertures in the front
of the card panel so they could peak through from the inside..

Once you open the card the candles have been blown out!!
Ahh... I can smell them now 😉

Well I hope you've enjoyed the last few days and we've whet your interest for
Release Day tomorrow. As usual there will be a blog hop full of
inspiration as well as a chance for you to win the whole new release
so please make sure you come back tomorrow 😊

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko May Release - Intro to Stencil Mid Century Modern

Hey, welcome to day 3 of the Uniko May release sneak peeks and
we have a new stencil to share with you today..

This continues the Mid Century Modern theme from Wednesday although I went with
a kind of circuit board vibe! I embossed the stencil onto a cardstock panel and
then inked through it using three shades of blue for an ombre look.

I used Simply Said Blocks sentiments and placed them along the
lines of the design... a bit like resistors

To complete the card I used the flash and sentiment from Explosion and
Explosion Additions stamp sets.... seemed the perfect fit 😊

Hope to see you back here tomorrow for the last day of sneak peaks,
where did those days go!!

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko May Release - Intro to English Country Garden Butterflies Designer Dies & Large Background Sketched Foliage

I'm here again with day two of the new Uniko May release and today's cards
couldn't be anymore different from yesterdays retro style!

First up are Designer dies to coordinate with the prevoiusly released English Country Garden Butterflies stamp set..... I had to get my watercolours out to colour these beautiful
butterflies so I could cut them out with the new dies and mount them with their wings raised..

The images look gorgeous used tone on tone for the background

I love the sketchy nature of this new foliage background so I thought I'd try and heat emboss
it in gold then loosely watercolur with shades of green. I've added three flowers from
the previously released Beautiful Blooms III....

I'm really pleased with both of todays cards.... not my usual go to
style but it's fun to stretch those creative muscles :)

I'll be back tomorrow for another sneak peak, I hope you'll join me then.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Uniko May Release - Intro to Mid Century Modern Florals and Background Blocks I and II

For the next few days I have the pleasure of joining Uniko for their May
release, which is fab by the way 😉😊

So from today until Saturday I will sharing my cards and sneak peaks of the new release
along with the Uniko ladies. Then Sunday is release day with a blog hop which
gives you a chance to win the whole new release.

Today is the introduction to Mid Century Modern Florals
and Mid Century Background Blocks I & II...

As the name suggests, the Mid Century Modern backgrounds have that retro vibe
so I was totally inspired by images on Pinterest. I just had to add enamel accents to those
dots in an array of bright colours... a little bit of ink blending around the edges
helped to give that aged look too

This is the second Background block and I decided to change it up by stamping it out three
times in different colours so I could cut them up and mix it up to make a border for this card....
does this remind you of retro wallpaper??!!

Now I know you shouldn't have favourites but the Mid Century Modern Florals
has won my heart, first of all it's a style I love and a very versatile set too.
This floral builder has got the retro vibe going so I went with a rich muted colour
palette and stamped this stylised flower border.

So that's all for today, we have more lush stuff this week so please pop
back tomorrow for more sneaks and inspiration.

Thanks for stopping by :)
