I'm having a floral moment this week over at Seven Hills Crafts... not my usual 'go to thing' but I love the Bundles of Blooms background stamp from MFT so I thought I'd try the spotlight technique as it's quite a busy pattern for lots of colour...
I used Polychrome pencils and didn't get too fancy with them... the background stamp is like a colouring book page so I thought I could get away with simple colouring ;) After a weekend of building Ikea furniture, colouring was just what I needed!!
As a variation on the spotlight design, I placed the coloured piece behind the front panel..... it meant extra faffing to line it up and trimming to size but I like the result much more :)

Thanks for stopping by :)

Great choice to create a spotlight with this stamp Jenny, I have my eye on it but so far have resisted (though you are not helping lol).
ReplyDeleteLove how you have placed the coloured "spot", lovely colouring too.

Fabulous spotlighting, Jenny ... the depth of your colouring is amazing ... seems it's 3D! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteAnother adept of Ikea furniture ! My scraproom is an Ikea showroom ;-)) ! Very good idea to put the colored stamped image behind the uncolored one ! This stamp is just gorgeous, it reminds me the art therapy designs that I bring with me during holidays. Just watching your card and I feel Zen ! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're right - it's totally like a coloring book image! Spotlighting was definitely the way to go with this and I love the PS hello!
