I've become a fan of One layer cards since joining in with card challenges over the years... having the card front as my only blank canvas reduces the decisions I need to make. I still like to try and add some interest to a OLC by trimming away a strip of the front panel....
I love how the contrasting paper strip shows through to the front :)
Kate has made a brilliant Shaker card with the same stamp set.... please hop over and take a look and whilst you are there you can check out the rest of the Stamping Contrasts blog posts :)
I'm going to pop this in over at AAA cards where the theme is Springtime... Spring is my favourite season and the birds are certainly busy in our garden nesting and feeding.
Thanks for stopping by :)

Love that you made it one layer! Adorable card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever way to add interest to a one layer card, will have to borrow this idea myself! Super cute stamps and I love that you stretched the twig by stamping it three times, another idea to borrow. Thanks so much for sharing at AAA Cards.
ReplyDeleteA VERY clever card, love the overhanging branch and the lovely contrast check. As Jane said ANOTHER idea to borrow :)
ReplyDeleteTrop chou, quelle adorable création, biz
ReplyDeleteLove the illusion that it's more than one layer by trimming the edge, another gorgeous design Jenny!
ReplyDeleteOh this is just so sweet Jenny. I absolutely adore your design here with the cut out side and around that sweet bird to reveal the gingham on the inside. WOW.

Hi Jenny dear! I was so happy to see your card at AAA Cards - I actually came over to your blog to see what you've been up to, and saw your entry. This is such a sweet card, and what a fantastic idea to cut away the front. Hope all is well with you and yours. xoxo
