Hello There,
Just a quick post this evening, it's been a long weekend of travelling about and I'm shattered!! Yesterday was my Nephews birthday and this is the card I made him using the gorgeous colour palette from the Play Date Cafe..
I've used a border from Lawn Fawns Interlocking Backdrops and cut away some of the rectangles whilst adding others in Grey patterned paper and raising them on foam pads..... I thought it made a good pattern for a guys card and it also reminds me of Parquet flooring too..... not that that's particularily masculine.... hehe :0)
Hannah is now safely back at Uni which is the reason for most of the travelling this weekend, just seven weeks left... unbelievable!!! James has his second week of Easter break so still not sure how much crafting will get done this week either so I'll pop in when I can :0)
Thanks for stopping by
Jenny x

This is a fantastic man card, Jenny! I love how you used that backdrop border!! Now, thanks to you, I have an inspiration card for another way to use that fun border!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with James this week!!
love how you used this border.. cute card.
ReplyDeleteGreat card - I do like the border with the cutouts and popped up areas - very funky!
ReplyDeleteWow--this is so bright and bold. I shied away from the colors this week, as they seemed drab, but you have shown me the error of my ways.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe Hannah is already finishing up her first year! Time flies! Great card for your nephew!
ReplyDeleteI do admire card-makers who take that extra step (cutting out pieces and inserting a different color). It's a terrific card!
ReplyDeleteThat is one fab guy card, Jenny! Love that border image... so cool!

What a fabulous border Jenny and perfect in the neutrals! Glad to hear the weekend went well and Hannah was safely delivered. Have fun this week! Vicky x
ReplyDeleteTWO WEEKS of Easter vacation? Yikes. One week is hard enough to fill when the weather's not great.
ReplyDeleteI love this card - genius to go graphic for a guy card :)
What a great way to use a border stamp! You've kicked it up a notch by cutting out and adding to the shape. Fab! So glad you could join us for this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to use that backdrop border Jenny! Love the colour combo too, perfect for a male card. I was trying to describe our "parquet" vinyl flooring to Keir and he had a light bulb moment and said "oh, like a school gym" !!!
ReplyDeleteNot smelly anyway:) Looking forward to lunch on Saturday:)
