We'll go out later and make a snowman although I prefer it left untouched!
I'm also here to share a card I made a couple of weeks ago when I was playing around with my new speech bubble dies, I had a go at making my own embossing folder using thick card to see how well it works and made this card which is more my style of un-fussy valentines :0)
It's a case of trial and error with the thickness of the card pieces and trying it through the big shot but I'm quite pleased with the soft edges on the embossing, here's a closer view
I'm entering this card into this weeks challenge at CASual Fridays which is to make a card inspired by a movie and mine is obviously 'Ghost'..... thanks Karen for reminding me :0)
Here are a couple of photos of the homemade embossing folder
I'm having a go at posting this on the blogsy app from my iPad which is proving more time consuming than turning the computer on at the moment but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it. Does anyone else use this app to post from an iPad??
Hannah is out having a driving lesson which is great as she'll be learning how to handle the snow on the smaller roads, something I have never been taught so I usually stay put when there's snow on the ground or walk it! Needless to say the mutt loves and runs around like a mad thing biting mouthfuls of the stuff, it must be hard work for him though as its quite deep in places and comes up to his tummy!
Hope your enjoying the snow rather than it causing you hassle, I think most the country has had some so keep warm and enjoy the rest of the weekend..... Let's hope it goes by tomorrow :0)
Thanks for your visit today
Jenny x
I have an iPad, but I don't post from it...I've never found a good way to do it...so I'm interested in what you here! I love this card. The embossing is very cool. thanks for sharing how you did it!
ReplyDeleteOMG you are so talented-making this embossing folder is so fab. Great card as always.
ReplyDeleteI just use safari and post as I always do by signing in from my blog. Didn't know there was an app!

I love the card. You are so clever, making your own embossing folder. Well done.
ReplyDeletefab Jenny... love it and love how you made the embossing folder...
ReplyDeletejen xx
Wow, where to start on this post?! First, your photos are beautiful - would look fab on a Christmas card or calendar. Second, your card is amazing!!! Jenny you are a genius - you should get that die idea to a manufacturer! Someone is going to snap up that idea! Listen to me woman, lol!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Beautiful photos. Your card is both clever and very lovely. Very awesome that you did the embossing on your own.
ReplyDeleteJenny, this is a wonderful post! The beautiful pics of the new snow are so serene and quiet (unlike my house right now, two of my kids giggling and rolling on the floor as I type this!). I also love the fact that you made your own embossing folder...I am inspired to try this sometime with dies that I have! As for my new iPad, I usually visit other blogs on it but I have not figured out a way to actually post with it (the adding my pictures part is what is too difficult since I save them to my computer). Maybe someday...I do love this thing!
ReplyDeleteHi Jenny! The ipad pics are wonderful. I can never get my hands on ours because those boys of mine are glued to it. I love a snowy Sunday. I hope it has been a good one and that all of you are safe and warm. I just love your home made ebbossing folder. What a genius idea. What you have done with it is fabulous as always! that is a great valentine to be sure!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - for some reason, I just don't get good photos like that from my iPad. LOVE my iPad...but I haven't blogged from it. I read blogs, store card ideas, store challenges and much more (in fact, I have a tab on my blog with card apps if you are interested!)
ReplyDeleteThe card is fabulous...I have to do something like that for my hubby - he's a ditto kind of romantic!?
That's pretty close the seen that I woke up to as well! Your home-made embossing folder is FABBY! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHugs,

All our snow is melting here. This card is amazing, the embossing is out of this world! And I would be remiss if I didn't invite you to link this up at the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, if you haven't already!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all gorgeous photos and card, love the handmade embossing folder, what a great idea! Love your card, really striking. As for blogging on the iPad I use the Blogger app, pretty much the same as doing it from the PC!
ReplyDeleteStay warm! xx
I, too, have an iPad and don't post from it. It's just too much trouble for me. The snow is pretty and I'm glad it's there and not here! I love your card and I am going to try that technique with some cloud dies very soon, thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeletean absolutely brilliant card, jenny!! and the photos are soo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photo's, Jenny! Just as I love to see snow...new, fresh and untrodden. And how clever are you? Making your own embossing folder! I must have a go at doing that. I love your Valentine's card, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm using my iPad right now, but I prefer the keyboard on my PC. It's handy to have when you want to watch T.V. at the same time as blog hopping though:)
Love this card Jenny! Fab embossing folder invention too, very creative!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Victoria ~x~
My I pad wont let me upload photos to my blog which is really annoying as it was the main reason i bought it so I can blog while traveling although I use it and my Iphone 4s for photos and they take great pictures well I think so anyway . Your garden looks beautiful what gorgeous pictures. Your card is amazing and am just of too see If i can make my own embossing folder you have inspired me yet again.
ReplyDeleteMarie
you blow me away every post Jenny, which is beyond inspiring. this is a great way to get added use out of our expensive supplies :) i'm still loving those speech bubble dies too! great card, and pretty pics too!
ReplyDeleteJenny, I hope it is not too cold there. As I sit here in the middle of summer, your photos send a shiver down my back. brrrr (it doesn't snow here...ever). Anyway, thanks for the explaination on making your own embossing folder. I will have to give that one a go. Oh and your card is fantastic, I love the speach bubbles.
ReplyDeleteMichelle

ReplyDeleteLove the photos of your garden, the snow looks lovely. Thankfully we don't have any as yet unlike the last couple of years.
Keep cosy. x
Hi Jenny
ReplyDeleteThat is very, very clever!! I am well impressed!!
Loving the finished valentine card too.
Gorgeous photographs of the untouched snow. That is how I prefer it too .. .. though I do usually draw a heart in somewhere!! LOL!!
We saw the young lad at the end of our garden looking out of his bedroom window at our super neat snow .. .. we guessed his was all "messed up" by this point and that he fancied doing the same to ours. Tee hee!!
Love Jules xx
your card is so so awesome...love all those little talking bubbles. look at all that snow...I love it...
ReplyDeleteIt is like in the 70's here in CA
LOVING those speech bubbles! Such fun cards!!!!
ReplyDeleteSnow...oh boy...looks so pretty.
Just terrific. Love the idea of a home made embossing folder, and those dies must be super handy to have around. I like your style of Valentine, as neither I nor my hubby are mushy or romantic. Coming from San Diego, I am totally envious of your snowy view!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty pictures :) We've just finally finished digging out of our 18 inch snowfall that occurred over 36 hours. We normally get maybe 2-4 inches at a time so we are a bit overwhelmed :) I love your card and it's such a wonderful nod to such a great movie!! Always a pleasure to see what you come up with :) Thanks for playing with us at CAS-ual Fridays!
ReplyDeleteYou are such a clever crafter Jenny! I just adore everything about this card, especially your own embossing folder and the fab sentiment! It's perfect!

Brilliant card Jenny, you always have a little twist in your designs, I love your home made embossing plate, I keep meaning to try this myself!
ReplyDeleteI have the blogsy app on my iPad, but have yet to really play around with it. I just find it too tricky to manage a post from my iPad, so I use the computer! But I'm a real technophobe!
I'll be very interested to see what you make of it!
Fun idea to make your own embossing folder! I like what you did with your speech bubble die too, I would never have thought of it.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Karen

ReplyDeleteAs for your card and embossing card, I think this will be the new craze AND sooooooooo much cheaper :)

ReplyDeleteYour embossing folder is AWESOME! It's totally my kind of card too - keep the slushiness to a minimum! LOL!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous snow pictures - haven't taken any with my iPad yet. I must try it out. Haven't posted anything from it either - I think I need that Blogsy app thingy!
Hi Jenny, I'm not sure what happened or why I can't find your aqua card, so I'll leave my comment on this post: Your card is beautiful! The pearls balance the two beautifully colored blooms, and overall dainty and beautiful card.
